Herod, son of Mariamne

In Book I, Chapter 29, Herod’s testament bequeathed the kingdom to Antipater and named Herod, the son of Mariamne, as Antipater’s successor: “wherein Antipater had the kingdom bequeathed to him, and wherein Herod was named for Antipater's successor.” His parents were Herod and Mariamne, the high priest’s daughter.
In Book I, Chapter 30, Herod removed him from the testament and succession, “who had been before named therein as successor to Antipater.”
