Tecmessa
Role: princess-bride of Aias · First appears: Book V · Part 4
In Book V, Part 4, Tecmessa recounts that Ajax son of Telamon took her captive and made her his wife. He promised that, when they returned from Troy, he would make her queen of Salamis, and she bore him a son, Eurysaces.
After Ajax son of Telamon died by his own hand, Tecmessa lamented, “Not by the hands of foes in fight struck down, But by thine own!” Agamemnon promised that neither she nor Eurysaces would be made thralls while he or Teucer lived.
