Achaimenes
Family: Persian · Role: son of Dareios · First appears: Book 3 · §9–14
At Papremis, Inaros killed Achaimenes, son of Dareios. In Book 7, Xerxes, his brother, entrusted him with the government of Egypt; the account then says that Achaimenes, as governor, was later killed by Inaros. Achaimenes also counselled Xerxes against a proposed naval attack on Laconia, and Xerxes replied, “Achaimenes, I think that thou speakest well, and so will I do”.
