the boy (Chapter 052)
Role: nephew · First appears: Mrs. Logan'S Story
In Mrs. Logan’s story, the boy lived with his uncle, an old man, and was told to find the sister who had been carried off years earlier. The first man deserted him naked on an island; after escaping the man’s search, the boy sailed away by canoe. Three days later he found his sister at the rocks, where she said a bad man was keeping her. They escaped by canoe, and the boy killed the man pursuing them.
The boy brought his sister to the skeleton, then followed its instructions to gather bones and raise the dead. After ten years away, the siblings returned to their uncle, who had mourned for his nephew throughout their absence. The boy and his uncle built a long house with six fireplaces, and the boy brought his people from the island to live there.
