the daughter of Aggodagauda

Role: Aggodagauda's only child · First appears: Aggodagauda and his Daughter

In Aggodagauda and his Daughter, Aggodagauda warns his only child, a beautiful daughter, to stay inside or on the roof and watch for the buffalo chief. One morning, while she sits combing her hair on the lodge roof, the buffalo king catches her hair with his horns and carries her to his village. She leaves broken twigs along the trail for her father to follow, and later pretends to fetch water for the buffalo king before escaping.

Aggodagauda sets out to recover her and, with help from his guardian spirit, meets her as she leaves the lodge. He carries her on his shoulders back across the stream and brings her home.
