Drusus the Younger
Also known as: Drusus / Drusus (son of Tiberius) · Family: Julio-Claudian house · Role: son of Tiberius · First appears: Augustus 100
During the reign of Augustus, Drusus was named an heir in remainder alongside Germanicus, receiving one third while Germanicus and his three sons received the rest. He was the son of Tiberius and Vipsania Agrippina—“After having by her his son Drusus”—and Tiberius later parted from Vipsania Agrippina to marry Julia.
Under Tiberius, Drusus was present when Lucius Scribonius Libo sought a private conference, which Tiberius would grant only if Drusus attended. He married Livilla and had a daughter, Julia, while his brother Germanicus also died during their father’s lifetime. Drusus died at Rome after being poisoned through the contrivance of Livilla and Sejanus, and Tiberius showed little affectedness at his death; Tiberius later had by Drusus a son named Tiberius Gemellus.
