Gog
Role: chief prince of Meshech and Tubal · First appears: Ezekiel 38
Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, was opposed and judged by God, who declared, “Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal”. God commanded him to prepare himself and his assembled company, while Ezekiel was told to set his face against Gog and prophesy against him. At the same time, Gog formed an evil plan to invade unwalled villages and seize their wealth.
In the latter days, God brought Gog and his armies against Israel so that the nations would know Him. When Gog attacked, God caused a great shaking in the land, turned the forces’ swords against one another, and judged them with pestilence, blood, hailstones, fire, and brimstone. In Ezekiel 39, God defeated Gog and his forces on the mountains of Israel, then assigned Gog and his multitude a burial place in the valley of Hamongog: “there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude”.
