Periboea
Role: daughter of Hipponous; wife of Oeneus · First appears: The Catalogues of Women and Eoiae · Fragments 41–60
After Althea’s death, Oeneus married Periboea, daughter of Hipponous. Hesiod says she was seduced by Hippostratus, son of Amarynces; her father sent her from Olenus in Achaea to Oeneus, bidding him kill her. The Thebaid instead says that after Olenus was stormed, Oeneus received her as a prize.
