Lord Reginald Cobham

Also known as: Reginald Cobham · Family: England · Role: lord · First appears: Book 1, Chapter 23

At Poix in Book 1, Chapter 50, Lord Reginald Cobham and Sir Thomas Holland, commanding the rear-guard, returned after the townsmen refused ransom and attacked the English. They cried “Treason! treason!” The English then killed almost all the inhabitants, burned the town, and razed its two castles.

In Chapter 53, King Edward placed Cobham in the first battalion alongside Prince of Wales and other lords. During the fighting in Chapter 55, Cobham and Earl of Warwick were vigorously attacked while defending the prince. In Chapter 57, Cobham and Lord Stafford examined the dead and reported the banners and bodies they had found.

At Flanders in Chapter 64, Cobham joined English envoys seeking support for Earl Lewis of Flanders to marry the English king’s daughter. In Chapter 80, he slew Sir Geoffry de Chargny while de Chargny carried the banner of France; in Chapter 81, he and Earl of Warwick presented King John to the prince.
