Edeyrn the son of Nudd

Edeyrn is the prince of Denmark and the son of Nudd, named alongside Arthur and Gwalchmai in The Dream of Rhonabwy: “Edeyrn the son of Nudd is their prince.” In Geraint the son of Erbin, he fights Geraint the son of Erbin on foot with swords until Geraint the son of Erbin prevails. Arthur then becomes surety for him, while Morgan Tud is charged with preparing a chamber and providing him with medical care.
Edeyrn’s conflict with Gwenhwyvar remains unresolved when Geraint the son of Erbin sets out, and he is not initially permitted to accompany him. At Caerlleon upon Usk, after his punishment, Gwenhwyvar allows him to leave freely: “Then she permitted Edeyrn freely to depart.” He is then named among the company that travels with Geraint the son of Erbin.
