In Daniel 2, Daniel secured Shadrach’s appointment with Mishael and Azariah over the affairs of Babylon’s province under Nebuchadnezzar: “Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon:”

In Daniel 3, Shadrach, with Mishael and Azariah, refused to serve Nebuchadnezzar’s gods or worship his image. They were bound and cast into the burning fiery furnace, but God delivered them unharmed. Afterward, Nebuchadnezzar called them forth, blessed the God of Shadrach, and promoted them in the province of Babylon.
