Ferbaeth
Family: Men of Ireland · Role: warrior · First appears: The Death of Ferbaeth
In “The Death of Ferbaeth,” Ferbaeth was Cuchulainn’s foster-brother and a man bound to him by covenant. Though he said, “I do not wish it,” he agreed to fight him and went that night to renounce their friendship; Fiacha Mac Fir-Febe went with him. Scathach was foster-mother to both men, and Lugaid Mac Nois called Ferbaeth their comrade.
At the glen, Cuchulainn struck Ferbaeth with a spear, and Ferbaeth fell into the glen and died at once. On the morrow, Cuchulainn agreed to pay for his death.
