Damophilus

At Leuctra, Damophilus opposed engaging the Lacedæmonians without delay, unlike Epaminondas, Malgis, and Xenocrates. The Bœotarchs’ views differed, but after Bacchylides returned to camp and voted with Epaminondas, they agreed “to stake everything on a battle.”
