Lord Winter
Also known as: Winter · Family: English royalists · Role: commander · First appears: Chapter 55
In chapter 55, Lord Winter was a friend of Charles I, who counted him among the few who had never forgotten him. When Charles I accepted the escape plan, he ordered Winter to give the necessary orders; with Athos and Aramis, the king was rescued and returned to the royal tent. Tony served as Winter’s servant, and Winter also affirmed his counsel to Charles I.
In chapter 56, Mordaunt identified Winter as his uncle, yet became his enemy and shot him through the heart. Falling into Athos’s arms, Winter murmured, “He is avenged!” In chapter 57, Mordaunt acknowledged that he had killed the colonel who escorted Charles I, naming him Lord Winter, and disowned him from the family as a traitor to England.
