The householder of Takshaśilā, father of Utpalavarṇā (Chapter 010)

Family: Takshaśilā · Role: householder · First appears: Chapter X

In Chapter X, the very rich householder of Takshaśilā was married to The householder of Takshaśilā’s wife (Chapter 010), who bore him a daughter, Utpalavarṇā. As he had no son, he decided that his daughter would marry only someone willing to live with him as a son-in-law. When The son of the second householder of Takshaśilā (Chapter 010) entered his home after his parents’ death, the householder proposed this arrangement, and the young man agreed.

The householder later died, leaving his son-in-law and The householder of Takshaśilā’s wife (Chapter 010) in the household.
