Coronis
Role: Hyad · First appears: The Astronomy
The Astronomy names Coronis among the sisters of Hyas whom Zeus transformed into the stars called Hyades. In The Catalogues of Women and Eoiae, Ischys son of Elatus had wed Coronis, daughter of Phlegyas. Later, in the Homeric Hymn to Asclepius, Coronis gave birth to Asclepius in the Dotian plain; other accounts say he was the son of Arsinoe or of Coronis.
