the boy (The Boy Who Was Sacrificed)
Family: Skidi · Role: the father's son · First appears: The Boy Who Was Sacrificed · Part 1
In the Skidi village on the Loup, the boy was the son of a man who believed sacrificing him to Ti-ra´-wa would bring a blessing. One morning, his father stabbed him and threw his body into the river; at Pa-hük´, the Nahu´rac brought him back to life, taught him their secrets and ways, and made him one of them for a season.
After returning home in the night, he touched his sleeping mother and told her, “I've come back.” He knew he could not have learned these things unless his father had sacrificed him. Later, after a feast at the Nahu´rac lodge at Pa-hük´, he was made a doctor and taught again what the Nahu´rac knew.
