Nestor
First appears: Apollodorus, Library 1.9
🌐 Also appears in: The Iliad (as Nestor) · The Odyssey (as Nestor) · Greek Tragedy — The Same Myth, Three Voices (as Nestor)
Nestor was named as the son of Neleus and Chloris, though another passage calls him the son of Priam. After the capture of Elis, Heracles attacked Pylus and killed Neleus and his sons, including Periclymenus, but spared Nestor because he was a youth being raised among the Gerenians. Nestor was listed among the Pylians, who brought forty ships.
He married Anaxibia, daughter of Cratieus, and was the father of Pisidice, Polycaste, Perseus, Stratichus, Aretus, Echephron, Pisistratus, Antilochus, and Thrasymedes. He later appears in company with Diomedes and Menelaus.
