Jezaniah

Also known as: Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah · Family: Judah · Role: captain · First appears: Jeremiah 40

Known as “Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah,” Jezaniah was among the captains who, with Johanan, came to Jeremiah and asked him to pray for the remnant, seeking God’s direction and promising to follow whatever answer was given.

That day, Jeremiah exposed their deceit, declaring, “ye have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God,” after they rejected the instruction they had requested.
