Pausanias' Description of Greece

Philoxenus

Family: Macedonian · First appears: Book 1 · Chapter 2

In Book 1, Chapter 2, Philoxenus went to Dionysius, later tyrant in Sicily. In Book 2, Chapter 33, he arrested Harpalus’s money dispenser at Rhodes after seeking Harpalus’s extradition from the Athenians, then sent Athens letters listing the names and sums received from Harpalus.

The letters did not mention Demosthenes, though Philoxenus was privately his enemy and Alexander (son of Philip) hated Demosthenes bitterly.
