Yahula
Family: the Cherokee · Role: stock trader · First appears: Myth 86 · Yahula
Long before the Revolution, Yahula was lost in the mountains and kept in the town of the Nûñne'hi, the Immortals, after they found him and brought him there. Some time later, he returned to his people, but when his wife, children, and brother begged him to stay, he said he could not: it was “either life with the Immortals or death with his own people.” He vanished as he stepped through the doorway.
Afterward, Yahula often visited his family, but eventually stopped coming when their entreaties grew urgent. For a time, one man who had been his friend continued singing the same songs after Yahula disappeared.
